The Life of Clare is a coming of age epic, told from the perspective of a brilliant young girl, Clare Cooley, in a terribly dangerous environment set in Orange County, California, in 1968 and based on the book of life stories Incandescence: Rising Above Darkness of Clare Cooley, a successful, self-taught artist from a severely dysfunctional family.
